Bathroom Suite with Respatex Cracked Cement Wall Panels
This bathroom installation combined a new suite with Fibo (formerly Respatex) wall panels. The customer selected the Cracked Cement design from the available brochure options, giving the walls a cement-effect finish without traditional tiled grout lines. We fixed the panels with adhesive and sealed the relevant joints, corners, and edges around the new bathroom suite. James Mochrie Plumbing and Heating carried out the required alterations to the plumbing and heating pipework. The finished panels provide a practical, grout-free wall surface throughout the bathroom.
Why choose wall panels instead of tiles?
Wall panels aren't only a practical alternative to tiles; the available designs can also make them part of the finished look of the bathroom. They avoid traditional tiled grout lines, can be quicker to fit, and may remove the need to involve a separate tiling trade. The right choice ultimately comes down to the customer's preferred finish and the room.
Can wall panels be fitted over existing tiles?
Sometimes. We assess the existing surface first to make sure it's flat and suitable for the fixing method. Depending on its condition, further preparation may be required.
How long does a panelled bathroom normally take?
We normally allow around one week for a panelled bathroom of this type, although the room's condition and the wider scope of work can change the programme. A comparable tiled installation would usually add several days.
How should wall panels be cleaned?
For routine cleaning, wall panels only need soap and water. With no tiled grout lines, there is less grout maintenance to worry about.
